    Look at me go!
Bills paid, vet appointment made for tonight, keg secured, stories posted and now I'm heading off to the gym. It is amazing how much energy you can get from exercising!

Oh yeah, I keep forgetting to post this but it is too cute. Last Sat., I changed out of my Nsync World Tour 1998 t-shirt before going to the party and I tossed the shirt on my bed. Later that night, when I finally went to bed, my hubby was all curled up around my pillow and my shirt! Because of the way the shirt was folded it looked like he was spooning up to Joey! Ahahahahahaa! If I only had a camera...

Off to the gym! Hopefully, I will see sexy/flirty boy and I won't fall off the treadmill while trying to improvise the choreography to Pop. Or get caught singing out loud again. [blushes]

    Later gators!

    LLTC!

I think I'm in love with this icon and would really like to start some kind of long term, sexual relationship with it. I'm a sick puppy.

    Monday, Monday
The first e-mail I got this morning was from HMV.com saying that the new Headstones CD shipped today! New Headstones! This, of course, means they will eventually be touring Canada again and that I'll be making the exodus North to Vancouver and Victoria. Oh yeah!

Then I go through my LJ to find out that I'm a dork and missed taping Nicky this morning. Well, if I woke up before noon these days, I might have a better chance of taping early morning shows.

Before going to bed at 4:00am this morning, I not only got to chat with my girlfriend for almost 5 hours on AIM but I got all my stories posted to Slash, Sparkle, Pop!. Well, except a story that has 8 parts that I need to combine and then convert to .txt. Maybe today.

Now that I'm up, I get to call the vet (poor sick kitty), dub a load of tapes, go to the gym, pay all my bills and then order a keg for next week's Halloween Party at my house. Ahhh... the life of the unemployed. I think I'll apply for a job or two today also.

Nicky feeds my inner ink fetish. Guh...

If anyone has a cleaner or sharper copy of this picture, I'd really appreciate if you could send it to me. I hate a messy icon but the picture is too beautiful not to use.

Edit: Thanks to [info]haefen, I have a much cleaner copy to play with now!

Joey sure does love to support his man....

Sometimes you just need to say, "fuck it all," sit back and enjoy the shameless pleasure that slash should be.

The party last night was fantastic! I drank four bottles of wine, got to hang out with lots of friends and commune with nature. They truly have a lovely place in the woods and the house suits them just perfectly.

I got to chat with [info]incredulity on my cell phone off and on all night. My friends live far enough out in the woods that the connection kept cutting in and out and that final time, my friends conspired against me and stole my phone so I couldn't call my nssgf back! Sorry, hon!

Played dj for a lot of the night, although I may have gotten on a bit of a Led Zepplin kick at the height of my drunkeness. Not that Led Zepplin is ever a bad thing! I finished up the night with Godsmack after being told that Zepplin was off limits for the rest of the night. [pout]

Sadly, the hubby was tired and had to work early this morning so we ended up leaving the party and coming home by midnight. Thankfully, the roommate was still awake and willing to go to IHOP and talk for a few hours. Lucy and I discussed fandom, life, the universe and just about everything. It was fun even if the waiter was a bit of a freak and we did too much caffeine. Finally made it to bed at 4:00am.

Today is all about chillin' at home. Some quality time with the computer and catching up on some fantastic new stories that are out right now. Tonight, I'm making homemade pot stickers (gyoza) and kung pao chicken for dinner. Mmmm.... spicy food....

I think I'm gonna get off my butt and post my stories to Slash, Sparkle, Pop! since I'm one of those people who has been moaning about the lack of a central SDB archive. I hope most or all of the authors in this fandom feel the same as I do and post also. Archives are the only thing I miss about FPS fandoms.

    Le sigh.

Maybe I'll finish my current Choey story if I get enough time and motivation. Hey! It could happen.

    Partay!
    [does the party boogie]

A friend from college is turning 34 today and we are going out to the ranch to celebrate. They have a couple of acres, a pool, a hot tub and a huge ass house. About 25 of us are still close friends, even 10 years after grad and we party a couple times a year.

Long story short, I'm not coming home tonigh! Wheee!

    Have fun in LJ-land!

So, I actually got up off my butt and went to the gym today and the gods of all that is good in my universe smiled on me. One of the cutest guys I have seen in my life was there and flirting with me! Why didn't guys ever flirt with me *before* I got married?

He was about six feet tall, his hair was under a bandana (ala NSA Justin) but he had dark curls sticking out in back (ala NSA Joey) and his body was freaking perfect. I hate those knucklehead musclebound guys and this guy was nothing like that at all. Just perfectly toned and proportioned.

When he walked by my treadmill he smiled at me and kept looking over at me. Then the big meanie actually got onto the stair climber machine, RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME, and winked at me over his shoulder. I was forced to watch that sexy ass for at least 20 minutes!

What initially caused me to notice this guy in a crowded 24 Hour Fitness? He was wearing a bright blue Superman t-shirt. [falls over dead]

BTW, Celebrity is an excellent album for the gym. Esp. if you skip the low tempo songs like Gone and Selfish and play the two-step songs on repeat. I didn't realize I was singing out loud until someone looked at me during the "What more WHOOO do I have to say? TWO STEP!" part of UATW. [blushes] Oh well, I was doing upper body choreography to Pop and I guess they'll just have to get over the lunatic singing and dancing girl.

    I'm gonna write now! Whooo!

I'm old but I really love music
    1. A song you never get tired of, no matter how many times you hear it.

    "Please" by U2

    2. An artist you fell in love with as soon as you heard one song by them, and where you were when you heard it.

1981, at school, on recess. A friend brought in a copy of U2's album Boy on tape. I borrowed it for the next 5 years. I have been infatuated, obsessed, in love with and all over U2 since that day. In over 20 years, no one has even come close to dethroning them as my "favorites." I've seen them 14 times live and that is only because they did so much touring when I was too young to make my own decisions about going to concerts.

    3. Three albums that you associate with your high school years.

Icicle Works - "Chop the Tree"
Metallica - "And Justice For All"
    U2 - "The Joshua Tree"

    4. Four albums that you associate with your college years (or the ages from 18-22, if you didn't go to college.)

    The Pixies - "Doolittle"
    Joy Division - "Closer"
    U2 - "Actung Baby"
    Yaz - "Upstairs at Eric's"

    5. The five albums you've listened to the most times.

    Duran Duran - "Rio"
    The Police - "Synchronicity"
    Smashing Pumpkins - "Siamese Dream"
    U2 - "War"
    Pearl Jam - "Alive"

Edit: I guess I should finish these things before I hit send, eh?

    I'm stuffed
In celebration of the Great Kirkpatrick's birthday (and Lucy's new job and some good news work stuff for my hubby), I pulled a few T-bone steaks out of the freezer and marinaded them in my special marinade for about 6 hours. I just finished a big steak, baked potato, bread w/ olive oil and balsalmic vinegar and a big ole salad. I made birthday cake for dessert and bought a couple big bottles of wine but I just don't think my stomach can handle it right now.

For the last few hours Lucy and I have been worshipping Chris by watching hours of footage. Making the Tour, Making of Pop, the McDonalds Video.... I love that boy something fierce!

I hope Chris is having a fantastic day and partying his ass off with his boys. And that someone is taking pictures...

You ever have one of those nights?
Usually, when slashers are coming over to my house there is a "purpose." We are going to watch a certain video segment or someone got a new dvd or it's time again to party at the Beavertron House O' Slash. Last night, there was nothing planned. Sandy the Younger was going to drop off a tape (Joey on Last Call!!!) and then back to a normal Wed. evening. That isn't what happened.

She arrived at 5:00pm, handed me the tape and then didn't leave until after 11:00pm. We had a fantastic time. BBQ burgers, lively conversation, a purusal through my terribly unorganized SDB pictures, a stroll through E-bay and two very large bottles of wine. Spontaneous goodness.

We may have bid on some Nicky items but since we are poor (and cheap) we may not get any of them. And that's okay because most of the fun was in the drooling and bidding:)

Poor Nicky, if he ever tours and comes to our town (or within a few hundred mile radius) he is going to have survive the two girls in the front row, clinging to each other and acting like complete dorks and screaming our fool heads off. Not that he isn't used to that phenomenon.

She also shares my insane love for Chris! Afterall, the girl did get to talk to Chris on the phone!!

Lovely, lovely evening. The Younger is truly one of my favorite people and welcome at my house anytime.

    Pure, unadulturated, Kirkpatrick worship
Since today is the birthday of one of my personal heros, I'm gonna wax poetic and tell y'all why I love him so much.

    Chris Kirkpatrick

First of all, he is my #1. Is now, ever shall be, world without end. Amen. I had never even HEARD of Nsync until I was shown a videotape at a slash party and I laid eyes on Chris Kirkpatrick. Love at first sight, indeed. I was drawn not only by the beauty of Chris but his sense of humor, his obvious love for his boys and one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard. My love for him knows no bounds and grows with every appearance and show I see him on. He will always be my number one. Period.

Point the second. Without Chris, there would be no Nsync, no puppy fandom and I would never have met all the wonderful people here. Now hold on! I know Nsync wouldn't exist without any of the five guys and their contributions but there has to be a beginning and this story begins with Chris. For that, I love him. He has given me the music, the fandom and all of YOU.

Third. I want to be just like Chris when I grow up. So, I'm 14 months older than him but you know what I mean. I admire his drive, his work ethic, his devotion to his family and his love for his friends. He has suffered adversity and grew up in contidtions that millions of people use as an excuse for sad, unproductive, bitter lives but he didn't take that path. His humanity, sense of humor and love of life survived. I wish I could be one tenth of the person he is.

Finally, I love him because of the way he loves Justin, Joey, JC and Lance. Like his mom said, he would die for any one of them. I hope they appreciate that and return his love and devotion. I'm pretty damn sure they do:)

Chris is an example of what I want to be. His example is also one of the driving forces behind my desire to go back to school and do something I truly love. Do your thing. Do it well. Everything else will follow.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CHRIS!!!

A step in the right direction
I've just about given up on this whole job search thing. IN the last 6 months, there have been exactly 3 jobs that I am qualified for that have even come open. One of them I made to the final interview and then they decided not to hire the position due to "cut backs." Nice. I am so freaking overqualified that it is almost impossible to switch careers but in my field there are just no jobs.

So. What's a girl to do? I'm not a sit on my ass kind of person and I believe in that whole future planning thing so I sat down and figured out what I really want to do. I want to teach. Duh. For the past 10 years, the best part of my job is when I got to do training or teach.

In grad school, I got to teach Environmental Science for two years and it was the best time I've ever had at a job. I've been fighting this education thing since I first went to college back in '88.

Well, no more. I contacted PSU and have an appointment with the head of the Environmental Science Program. I have trascripts from my past colleges in hand and a desire to finish my degree. At WSU, I'm all but thesis finished. Grrr....

I'll see how the meeting goes. If it is a program that I am interested in and if they want me badly enough, there is a chance of getting another assistantship. At WSU, my tuition was paid and they paid me $1000/mon. to teach. Hopefully, I can line something like that up because you lose your unemployment benefits when you go back to school. Go figure.

So. There it is. I have a goal and now I need to work on it.

    Chris, give me strength!

    It's the simple pleasures
For the last year I have had a lovely Nsync keychain bobble. A picture of the boys on one side and Nsync on the other. About a month ago, tragedy struck and my beloved keychain fell to pieces.

    [dramatic sob]

Taking my cue from the 6 Million Dollar Man, I decided that not only would I rebuild it but I would make it better than before. I scoured my Choey pictures until I found just the right one, resized it and then printed it out on heavy photo-quality paper. My husband glued the whole thing together and I added a heavy duty ring that will not be breaking this time.

Now I am delighted to have Nsync on one side and beloved boys on the other. The go with me everywhere and I show them off with pride:)

    Yeah. I'm 32 years old.

    [glares]

You wanna make something of it?

[info]incredulity and I have decided that NY is probably going to kill us. Being that close to Joey singing in Rent and then getting seeing him at the barricade after the show....

    ::thunk::

If he calls me "sweetie" they are going to have to fly me home in the belly of the plane. In a casket. I just hope that my sudden, seemingly spontaneous death doesn't scar the poor boy for life. Of course, I'm going to wait until AFTER the 5th show before I cease to exist. Duh.

    Death by Fatone, indeed.
